Miscellaneous

Hey everyone, it's been a while since this blog has been updated so I'm blogging today to end the dormancy period. Lol!

Anyways, basically what we've been doing (actually more like what Terence has been doing) is collecting the important cards from guildpact. Yup! Guildpact is going to be legal next week and Terence has his deck (red/green/white) formed already. Efficient no?

As for me, erm, I'm still deckless. Haha! As usual. I'll probably go into black/white, but Aura Barbs from the Betrayers set and Flashfires from Ninth Ed will be quite troublesome for black/white players.

So far, the Orzhov and Gruul orientated decks have been showing good potential. A few card orientated decks have also been spotted i.e Leyline of Singularity and Hunted creatures combo, Annex-Wildfire combo etc.

I've yet to see a really ground breaking Izzet orientated deck. But don't count blue/red out yet. Niv-Mizzet combos look set to take blue/red to the next level. Invoke the Firemind, Electrolyse, Parallectric Feedback and Repeal are all really good Izzet cards. Add these cards to the already impressive arsenal of Mana Leak, Hinder, Boomerang and Exhaustion amongst other cards, and there's great potential for an overpowering control deck. All that's lacking now is for some top player to come up with a really good combo.

I've also located the magic shops at Sembawang, Ang Mo Kio, Parkway Parade and Roxy Center.

On another note, Eric from Khatib is going to hold non-DCI tournaments everyday, with DCI sacntioned tournaments on Fridays (FNM) and Saturdays. Each participation earns the participant a stamp which after a certain number can be exchanged for boosters. The top players will then be drafted to play together for a PSP (Play Station Portable), or so he claims.

Basically, nothing much. This period is more of analysing what cards are good, which cards have potential and getting them at low prices. Don't worry though, next week the Friday Night Magic commentaries should be back. Till then, tata!
