Coldsnap previews are all over the place! I have to say I'm really excited about the 'mini-set'. So much so that I've been cruising for even more previews!

Well, MTG Salvation has a few rumoured cards from a French Magazine.

According to them, returning mechanics are Cumulative Upkeep, Burst and Pitch. And interestingly enough, the rumoured cards have Cumulative Upkeep involving the Snow-Covered Mana! My my, it's like a 6th colour for magic with the Snow-Covered Mana! Actually it's more like an additional 5 more types of mana since each colour will have a corresponding Snow-Covered Land.

And the magazine even had pictures of the theme decks!


Apparently, the theme decks will include cards from Ice Age and Alliances! That is absolutely shocking! Could it be that we may be getting black bordered Ice Age and Alliances cards? Another interesting point is that if the theme decks do contain such cards, these cards may not be Standard Legal. Yup! Only Coldsnap cards are Standard Legal. Kinda strange arrangement eh?

Well, it's going to be a very difficult set to play in Limited since some of the abilities hinge on the Snow-Covered Mana. These lands aren't given out during the prerelease so it's up to luck to decide if you get to utilise your Snow-Covered Abilities.
